What is the Apple ACPI Project? The Apple ACPI Project is a project designed to allow you to control the Power Management features of your PC/Laptop such as Intel Enhanced SpeedStep/AMD Cool n' Quiet and fan control (either directly or indirectly) it currently supports Mac OS X 10.4.8 and 10.4.9, when used with specific kernels. How Does it Achieve this?Put simply, it allows you to control the clock speed of your processor, with the software provided you can allow your system to use the minimum processor speed required by your system, when this is reduced, your system is kept cooler thus reducing fan speed and improving battery life. How do I use itSimply download the software from the downloads section and install it - just make sure your system is compatible first! You need a Intel Enhanced SpeedStep / AMD Cool n' Quiet compatible processor. What if something goes wrong? In that case, simply uninstall it, using the provided uninstall/removal script named "Remove ACPICPUThrottle.command" which is located in your applications directory, not got that file? Download it here! |
